During our follow up visit all the farmers showed keen interest in continuing with agriculture. The farmers also were keen in learning the techniques using solar energy in agriculture
The farmers showed keen interest to form their web sites to developing better marketing opportunities. Overall there were 10 successful stories, and if given more support there will be more successful stories.
Difficulties of farmers
Difficulties like availability of loan on time and market for their produce at a right price has been their major constraints.
The farmers wanted a market for their produce. The existing market does not give them a proper price for their produce.
Farmers have difficulties withs the bankers to avail loan for their farming. Most of the Government schemes do not reach the weak farmers.
The farmers requested AIMS to present their request to NABARD on their urgent need to form a federation.
Farmers are interested in adopting new technology Like solar equipments used to generate free energy for day to day farming activities like watering the field, fencing, pumping water, specially for drying their produce like chille , Kokum, Cashew, Jack fruit seeds, etc.
Utkarsh Farmers Club from Sangod Molle-Goa
a Farmer Mr. Arun Madgaonkar who converted his 29acres Kullabag into a spice farm in which he has planted cocoa, Nutmeg (jaifal), Pepper (miri), bananas, cashew nuts and Megha Tendali. All these saplings the club had brought from Vengurle and Dr.Bingarde had guided them on the right method of plantation to suit the Goan soil and climate. The Utkarsh Farmers Club are now planning to make this spot as an ecotourism spot as it has a beautiful river flowing besides this beautiful farm.

Agarwada Farmers Club
has started mechanized farming. With the help of the KVK team the Agarwada Farmers Club conducted soil testing. The President Mr.Vithobha Bagli had brought the vegetable seeds from Dhappolli and grafts of Mangoes, Chikus and Kokum. His farmers club produces a large quantity of organic vegetables. The information on pest control and prevention of diseases in the Arecanuts has helped him, as this year he has reaped a better harvest compared to the last year. The Agarwada farmers club now plans to acquire training in agricultural processing and post harvest technology. They also were interested in having a rural mart in the village for the marketing of their organic vegetables which otherwise is marketed in Baden in Maharashtra.

Nuven Farmers Club & Xetakaranchi Sangattnna
has started their own business in supplying oysters mushroom, vermi compost, mango saplings to nurseries and local around their village. The business has been very profitable as they have been doing the Kalam technique of Makurad on the local Mango saplings and selling the grafted Sapling for Rs.25/- per sapling. One of the farmers has also experimented Exotic farming in which she has grown Basil, Broccoli, & Capsicum. They have also started a nursery of medicinal plants.

Davorlim Farmers Club
represented by Succorina Colasso & Maria Colasso who initially were only growing vegetables and selling it in the village, have made a group of 6 farmers and have collectively engaged in chille nursery , which was seen at Vengurle, these saplings which are of two varieties (the Ghati Merch & the Sal dadi merchi of Gaondongri). This proved a very profitable business as many farmers from the Rai Bypass have been their customers and there has been an increasing demand for it.

Amona Farmers Club
Mr Nameshwar Senari & Mr.Mahadev Parab have adopted mechanized farming in their field. They have also started a water shed project with the sponsorship of SESA Goa. The Ammonia Farmers Club on seeing the poly house in Dhappolli have given a proposal to the SESA Goa CSR team to give them assistance in their Poly House project for the cultivation of Zerbera & Cristamonn flowers.
